The Artist Book Foundation welcomes book proposals and manuscript submissions on the visual arts, decorative arts, and architecture.
If you would like to submit a book proposal or a manuscript, please send it, along with the following information, by mail or email to art@artistbkfoundation.org.
- A cover letter (please specify in your cover letter if you would like your manuscript returned)
- A prospectus
- Your curriculum vitae
- If you want your manuscript returned: a self-addressed, stamped envelope
If available, please include:
- A table of contents
- Exhibition history, private & public collections, and bibliographic information
- A sample chapter
- The estimated length of your manuscript
- Examples of any artwork, including the total number of illustrations to be used in the text (please do not send originals)
- Your estimate of the potential audience for the work
- If the manuscript is not yet complete, please indicate its anticipated date of completion
Thank you for submitting a publication proposal to The Artist Book Foundation. It is important to note that the funding for the proposed publication is the responsibility of the artist, estate, museum, and/or relevant parties. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Be sure to include “Book Proposal” in the subject line of your email. A member of our editorial team will contact you as soon as the review is complete — about 2-4 weeks. We look forward to hearing from you!
