BOOKS FOR TODAY with GREATER ACCESSIBILITY for Tomorrow

Libraries are the leaders in providing equitable access to knowledge through their collections, resources, and other cultural materials. Vibrant hubs in our communities and academic settings. Safe spaces for learning. It is because of our great love for libraries that we are especially excited to offer TABF titles in both print and eBook formats—identical to each other, thus offering an uncompromised reading experience. This hybrid publishing model supports greater access for use in public and academic libraries and beyond.

THE WORLD BEFORE RACISM

An Art Story

By Lisa E. Farrington

Essays by: Jack Flam, Erin Thompson

This historical perspective coincides with the anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance, and provides a unique lens through which readers can understand the origins and evolution of racism. Using artworks as a primary source ensures that the voices of the artists remain unaltered while providing a direct connection to the historical narrative.

SWIMMERS

Carole Feuerman

Essays by: John Yau

Foreward by: John T. Spike

Realist sculptor Carole A. Feuerman’s human-figure sculptures express a refreshing perspective on the mundane but intensely personal activities of modern life. Her powers of observation and versatility find unique expression through various materials that include marble, bronze, vinyl, and painted resins, while she incorporates both ancient and contemporary methods in the creation of her works. Swimmers: Carole Feuerman is a gorgeous and shimmering glimpse at transitory, contemplative moments in time, often captured in a veil of clear resin that replicates tumbling water droplets.

WILL BARNET

Contributions by: Christopher Green, Gail Stavitsky, Jessica Nicoll, Ona Barnet

Introduction by: Bruce Weber

Will Barnet’s artistic career as a painter and printmaker spanned nearly eight decades of continuous creativity. Few artists, other than perhaps Picasso or Monet, can claim such an extended period of uninterrupted and innovative art making. From the darkness of the Great Depression to the opening decade of the twenty-first century, his oeuvre reflects his unique interpretation of the art world’s evolving genres: Social Realism, Modernism, Abstract Expressionism, and ultimately representational Minimalism with the human figure as his primary subject.
